Book - Skin Close

”Taking pictures of people living on the edge is not the easiest thing in photography, you have to know how to avoid pitfalls and to reveal the depth of the people you meet in a way that is both simple and profound. That’s what managed to do successfully here [by] Magnus Cederlund.”/Maki Photobooks Collector

"Magnus has portrayed people living on the edge. From the intimacy of the situations, the confidential gestures and the direct gaze of the persons being portrayed, his working method becomes present – he takes the time it takes to get to know the people in front of his camera, they trust him and he cares about them.” /Journal

I moved from Stockholm to Copenhagen almost 30 years ago. I have worked as a social worker with homeless people in many different institutions, but never for more than two years at the same place. When I began working at a new job I would return to my previous work place and ask if I could take photographs. The photographs in the book skin close are taken in Copenhagen between 1996 to 2016. I dedicated Skin Close to Nick Drake & Elliott Smith.
